Academy Assistants
The Academy Assistant programme aims to introduce a group of enthusiastic, excellent students to interdisciplinary research. Working in four groups on different topics, they are concerned with the intersecting domains of social and information science. Their particular focus is on the exciting and promising research terrain of social networks.
Academy assistants cooperate with researchers from the faculties of Information Science and of Social Science in order to:
a) apply new methods of data collection from the field
b) analyse these data and compare new and old methods of research
c) contribute to science by writing conference papers and concept articles.
The challenge of interdisciplinary project work teaches academy assistants valuable cooperation skills. Research into the topic of the faculty central to their group will lead them to new avenues of scientific investigation. The programme emphatically aims to stimulate students to aspire an academic career: it is a stepping-stone towards promotion. That is accomplished by close cooperation between supervisors and academy assistants writing their promotion research proposals.
You can find more information on the Academy Assistants and their research on the four research group pages.
